Today's Saint: Mary Magdalene is one of the first witnesses to the resurrection. She comes to the tomb in the early morning hours, but does not know it is the Lord; instead, she believes she is speaking to the gardener. In her grief, she asks him to tell her where Jesus’ body has been taken. Because of her great sorrow, she is weeping, but she is still seeking the Lord. It is not until he speaks her name that she is able to recognize him. She is given her mission, to go to Peter and the other disciples and to tell them that she has seen the Lord.
